Pam Whitley is a Partner of GHP Legal. A member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP), Pam specialises in non-contentious property and probate work and heads up our Property team in her home town of Wrexham.
After graduating in 1976 from Aberystwyth, University of Wales, Pam returned to her roots and joined Wrexham law firm, Edmund Pickles & Upton, where she served articles. She became a partner of that firm in 1984 and remained there until the firm merged with GHP Legal in 1996.
A mother of two teenage sons, Matthew and Ben, Pam is a keen member of Wrexham Golf Club and of Royal St David’s Golf Club in Harlech. Pam is a former amateur internationaI golfer, having represented Wales at junior, full and senior level. She has also captained the Welsh junior and ladies teams and currently serves on the Management Committee of the Golf Union of Wales, having overseen the merger of the Welsh Golfing Union and the Welsh Ladies Golf Union in January 2007.
A long time supporter of palliative care, Pam has been a trustee of Wrexham’s Nightingale House Hospice since 1991 and was Chair of the Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2005. She has also served a number of other local charities as trustee and is presently chair of the Brick Children School (Tikathali) which funds a school for the families of itinerant brick workers in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. Pam is particularly proud of her association with this small local charity which started as a project of Wrexham Yale Rotary Club, of which Pam was a founder member, Past President and still remains a member. The initial intention of providing education for children has developed into a community facility providing education for children and adults and health care to more than 300 people. A second satellite school is also scheduled to open.
