Former Young Farmers member joins leading N Wales law firm
A Solicitor, who, as a boy, worked alongside his herdsman father and was a keen member of Young Farmers, has joined the Llangollen office of leading North Wales law firm GHP Legal after working for a number of years in Greater Manchester, Lancashire and North Yorkshire.
Anthony Danvers, who specialises in Will drafting, Wealth Management, Elderly Client Services and Probate work, will also be handling some of the firm’s conveyancing work in both their Llangollen and Wrexham offices. His knowledge of rural and farming communities will play an essential part of the job.
After gaining his first degree in Geography at Edge Hill College, part of the University of Lancaster, Anthony went on to read for the Common Professional Examination in Law at the University of Central Lancashire and later attended the College of Law in York. In 2000 he began work as a Paralegal with Countrywide Property Lawyers before starting a two year training contract to qualify as a Solicitor whilst managing the conveyancing department of a local high street firm.
Speaking about his life move from farming to the law Anthony said: “From a young age I always wanted to be a lawyer and remember being enthralled by episodes of Crown Court and Rumpole of the Bailey. After qualifying I stayed in the North of England, but I have always been a country boy at heart and I see moving to North Wales as returning to my roots.”
Anthony and his partner are currently still living near Wigan, but are searching for a property with land in North Wales, where they can indulge their passion for gardening. A keen historian with a particular interest in Ancient Egypt and the Tudors, Anthony enjoys travelling, eating in and out with friends and going to the theatre and cinema. To counter his food indulgence Anthony goes to his local gym, but admits to being a somewhat lazy member!

Q: I am awaiting details of a redundancy package which I am expecting will contain the same restrictions as those in my contract of employment, in respect of client confidentiality and work I may do elsewhere with another company. So that I am armed with information in the event that my assumptions are correct, is there any way that I could get such covenants removed? After all, I have no choice about leaving the company and I need to get another job to support myself and my family.

Q&A - Store denies responsibility for spillage that caused me to slip1st September, 2010
Q: When I was shopping in my local Supermarket last month I slipped on the contents of a bottle of cooking oil that had clearly fallen onto the floor and, in doing so, had dislodged its cap. I hurt my wrist quite badly but didn't want to cause a fuss.  Legal Skydive earns charity £266427th August, 2010
Two solicitors from one of the largest law firms in North Wales and Shropshire presented Wrexham based Charity, Dynamic, with a cheque for £2664.30 this week. The money was raised in sponsorship for a tandem skydive which took place at Tilstock Airfield in June.

Q: I belong to a Residents' Association which is responsible for collecting an annual fee from all property owners of a private development, for the maintenance of common parts areas.
